GDES participates in the Business & Human Rights Accelerator, the human rights training program promoted by United Nations Global Compact Spain, an initiative that supports companies in moving from commitment to action on human and labor rights.
This participation is part of GDES’s adherence to the UN Global Compact for over a decade and reflects the company’s commitment to the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and the 2030 Agenda.
From Adherence to Action
The Business & Human Rights Accelerator is a six-month program that provides practical guidance and tools for organizations to establish continuous human rights due diligence processes. Over 50 hours of training, participating companies work on identifying and assessing actual and potential human rights impacts, integrating these results into their internal processes, and defining concrete action plans.
GDES approaches its participation in the program from a cross-cutting perspective, with the involvement of professionals from the QHSE/CSR and Organization and Human Resources departments, represented by Belén López, CSR, Sustainability, and Innovation Technician, and Melina Masciotra, Human Resources and Selection Technician, respectively.
This involvement stems from the conviction that respect for human rights must be integrated into concrete actions, from the corporation at all organizational levels, and throughout the entire value chain. Furthermore, it highlights the effort and training of the internal team as a lever to advance towards more responsible and coherent management.
