During the Tech Day, two real-world cases were presented that exemplify GDES’s commitment to open innovation as an engine for industrial transformation. Through collaboration with startups, clients, suppliers, and other strategic allies, the group promotes technological solutions that respond to the energy and
operational challenges of the sector, from efficiency in the use of resources to decarbonization and the continuous improvement of traditional processes.
Success story: GDES Efficiency and Solatom – Solar thermal energy for a more resilient industry
Fernando Giner (GDES Efficiency) and Miguel Frasquet (Solatom) presented their collaboration focused on the integration of solar thermal solutions in
industrial processes, with the aim of moving towards a more sustainable, stable, and autonomous energy model.
- Fernando Giner explained how, based on a complete energy diagnosis, GDES Efficiency designs decarbonization and self-consumption plans that combine electrical solutions (such as photovoltaics or storage) with thermal technologies adapted to the required temperature range, including solar thermal.
- Miguel Frasquet reinforced the viability of this technology with the example of the solar thermal plant installed in Heineken Spain (Quart de Poblet), the largest in the world in its category. And he highlighted the profitability and maturity of the model, supported by institutions such as the Valencian Institute of Business Competitiveness and Innovation (IVACE+i).

GDES’s recent participation in Solatom reinforces this commitment to innovative and sustainable energy solutions for the industry through collaboration and open innovation.
